I remember how cold this day was. I was a freshman and I had bronchitis, strep throat and an ear infection. Warrensburg made me miserable. I got a 1.9 that semester because I became depressed, sick and stopped going to classes. I learned a lot about myself at that time, but it was too late and those grades earned me a nice one page letter explaining that I was suspended for a semester. None of this had happened yet when I shot this photo. I remember not thinking much of it. Sticking the negatives in a pile in my room. I found them a few days ago and spent 3 hours scanning. At the time I just wanted to shoot assignments and then go back to my room to sleep the winter away. I love photography, but at the same time I don’t always want my camera to dictate me as a person. As a photographer I’m always trying to sell my perspective, but you really only get a glimpse of what I really see.
